For students who have taken Introduction to Modern Calligraphy or have some experience with the pointed pen and ink technique, this is the next step in the pursuit of learning this lovely and personal method of hand-lettering. Modern calligraphy has become increasingly popular as it combines new and traditional tools to create a more free-form style of writing, maintaining the elegance of traditional calligraphy while allowing for more self-expression. In this course, students will receive detailed, hands-on instruction each week, getting more and more practiced and confident in their writing, Students will also be introducing flourishes, experimenting with writing on non-traditional surfaces, and creating larger more complex personal projects.
