Description

Explore the potential of needle felting working with landscapes, portraits, and animal figures. Working with unspun wool and specially designed needles, you’ll produce artworks as flat surfaces, bas reliefs, and fully 3-dimensional sculpted figures. Felt is an extraordinarily adaptive material as well as being playful, colourful, and highly addictive! Skills to be covered include armature building, building and managing density in felt sculpture, felted attachments, colour blending, loose fur, painting with wool to create basic landscapes and portraits, simple colour theory, combining 2D and 3D techniques. This class is designed with those new to needle felting in mind, but open to those of all skill levels.

This course is hosted online. As such, students are required to have access to a computer, tablet, or smartphone with internet access during class time. Access to a web camera and microphone is strongly recommended. Additional materials required.
