Description
This introductory course will introduce students to the art of relief printing, and guide students through creating a repeat pattern using Nova Scotia’s native and naturalized flora as inspiration. Students will be introduced to materials and tools, build a vocabulary of marks, learn image making in reverse, and master the development and use of a square tile relief matrix. And by finding and researching local flora to use as reference, students will learn a little more about the place we live while learning how to make beautiful prints.
This course is hosted online. As such, students are required to have access to a computer, tablet, or smartphone with internet access during class time. Access to a web camera and microphone is strongly recommended. Additional materials required.
