Dont throw away your damaged textiles! Visible mending can prolong their life while turning imperfections into a celebration of unique personal identity. This course will cover a variety of mending techniques for both knit and woven textiles, including darning, patching, and reinforcing methods. We will gain wisdom from various cultures and time periods throughout history. Projects will focus on sewing by hand with a needle and thread/yarn, so no specialist equipment is needed. Previous hand-sewing experience is an asset but definitely not required.

This course is hosted online. As such, students are required to have access to a computer, tablet, or smartphone with internet access during class time. Access to a web camera and microphone is strongly recommended. Additional materials required.
