“Oh, you’re a Canadian painter ‘eh? So, you like the Group of Seven?”

This online class will introduce and explore a range of Canadian painters whose work ranges from landscape to abstraction. Participants will be given the opportunity to investigate specific artists to assist in the development of their own studio practice, including creating reproductions as a way to research, critique, deconstruct, and interpret painting styles and techniques. The class will also include group discussions, presentations, and critiques, and cover subjects such as create value and colour studies. Projects will be completed independently and during class time. Previous painting experience is required.

This class is an online class. As such, students are required to have access to a computer, tablet, or smartphone with internet access during class time. Access to a web camera and microphone is recommended. Additional materials may be required.
