Introductory Watercolour Painting

Spaces Available

This course introduces the foundation of painting with watercolour. Some of the unique qualities of watercolour painting include vibrant colors, transparency effects, and immediacy. This studio class will give instruction, demonstrations and critiques in colour design, light and value studies, and fundamental techniques, as students work from subjects such as still life, landscape, abstraction, and imagination. The novice painter will be encouraged and the experienced painter will be challenged. Class limit is 15.

Please bring one watercolour tube of a dark colour, ie, Black, Burnt Umber or Paynes Grey; one medium size Chinese brush, and a jam jar or yogurt container for water. We will go through the list of recommended colours and brushes in the first class.
