Description
Process and theory of oil painting within its principle historical contexts is introduced through studio work, demonstrations and group critiques. The nature of the materials, preparation of surface, colour theory and composition are considered. Emphasis is placed on the medium as a means of personal expression. Bring paints and brushes to the first class. It is recommended that students have some knowledge of drawing such as the Introductory Drawing course. Class limit is 15.
